An unknown author wrote "A Mother's Crown" expressing the loss of a mother in the words, "Heaven lit up with a mighty presence/ As the Angels all looked down / Today the Lord was placing the jewels / Into my mother’s crown." American poet E.E. Cummings wrote a poem for his mother beginning, "If there are any heavens my mother will (all by herself) have / one."
