Some “Law & Order” cast members include Jerry Orbach, Sam Waterston and Jesse L. Martin. All three actors appeared in numerous seasons of the popular police procedural and legal drama, which aired from 1990 to 2010.
Jerry Orbach starred as Detective Lennie Briscoe for 12 seasons of “Law & Order,” being one of the longest-running actors on the show. Orbach began his career on the stage, performing in Broadway and off-Broadway plays such as “Chicago” and “42nd Street.” Later in his career, Orbach moved into screen acting, appearing in films such as “Dirty Dancing” and “Crimes and Misdemeanors.” It was his role on “Law & Order,” however, that brought him to worldwide fame.
Sam Waterston played Assistant District Attorney Jack McCoy for 15 seasons, appearing in a total of 368 “Law & Order” episodes. A popular film actor prior to “Law & Order,” Waterston had roles in many notable films, including “The Great Gatsby,” “Interiors” and “The Killing Fields,” which won him an Academy Award nomination. After “Law & Order,” Waterston joined the cast of Aaron Sorkin’s HBO drama “The Newsroom.”
Jesse L. Martin starred opposite Jerry Orbach as Detective Ed Green, appearing in nearly 200 episodes. Like Orbach, Martin also began his career on the stage, appearing in Broadway plays such as “RENT” and “The Government Inspector.” After “Law & Order,” Martin landed another role as a detective on the CW superhero drama “The Flash.”
