Some of the original cast members of the "Little Rascals" include Carl "Alfalfa" Switzer as Alfalfa, Billy Laughlin as Froggy, George "Spanky" McFarland as Spanky and Billie Thomas as Buckwheat. Other notable cast members include Robert Blake and Jackie Cooper.
Blake played Mickey and got his start on the show in 1939, when he was just 5 years old. He went on to have a distinguished career in movies and on television. He starred as Perry Smith in the film "In Cold Blood" and later portrayed the title character in the television show "Baretta." In 2001, he was arrested in connection with the murder of his wife, Bonnie Bakley, but was later acquitted.
Cooper played Jackie and also had a successful acting career. He portrayed Perry White in "Superman: The Movie" in 1978 and went on to reprise the role in the movie's three sequels. He also appeared on television shows such as "The Twilight Zone" and "Mobile One."
Switzer's career did not fare that well after his success on the show. After "Little Rascals," he took small and often uncredited parts in many movies. He also worked odd jobs and had some run-ins with the police. He was shot to death at the age of 32 during an argument over a hunting dog.
