North Carolina's Parade of Homes is an annual showcase of new houses in Wake County. Entries in the Parade of Homes are judged by members of the Home Builders Association on criteria including workmanship, curb appeal, floor plan and interior design.
The Parade of Homes has taken place annually since 1965. As of 2015, the event takes place over three weekends in October. Homes that take part in the event hold open houses and public viewings for interested community members. The Parade of Homes closes with a gala event and the presentation of awards to the winning houses. Houses with unique design features or other points of interest are also highlighted during the closing ceremony.
