Nicole Curtis is known for the work she performs on her television shows, "Rehab Addict" and "Flipping the Block," where she rehabs and restores old, unkempt, and at times condemned, houses. Nicole Curtis is self-taught, holds a real estate license with Keller Williams, and is also a designer. Her main goal is to preserve the architectural history of the homes and neighborhoods, while making the restored properties available for purchase.
Nicole Curtis prides herself on repurposing materials in her restorations, keeping costs low, and frequents salvage yards in order to find items that are of the same era, or even identical, to what would have originally been in the homes. Originally from Lake Orion, Michigan, Curtis began her restorations within the city, eventually branching out to Detroit, as well as its suburbs. As of September 2015, Nicole Curtis has also restored properties in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and collaborated with NBA star LeBron James for a project in Akron, Ohio.
Curtis participates in Home and Garden events across the country, and is a sought-after consultant for outside contracting, design and restoration projects. Her charity, the Nicole Curtis Foundation, benefits housing causes and needy families, and she also volunteers with Habitat for Humanity, Step Forward Michigan, S.A.Y. Detroit and the LeBron James Family Foundation.
