Full Answer

Ann Landers is the pseudonym of Ruth Crawley, who created the popular advice column in 1941 for the Chicago Sun-Times. Shortly after her death in 1955, the column was taken over by Eppie Lederer. Lederer continued writing the column for the Chicago Sun-Times until her death in 2002.

Lederer copyrighted the pen name "Ann Landers" and did not wish for anyone to continue writing the column after her death. The popular column had a large national readership, and it remains popular today. Reprints of her past columns are now published under the title “Classic Ann Landers” on Creators.com.
