When Was National Public Radio Founded?

The National Public Radio or NPR was founded on Feb. 26, 1970, by 90 charter stations. It is a multimedia news organization that aims to provide national news programming for public radio and digital media platforms, with emphasis on the interests of the people.

NPR produces and distributes news, talk and entertainment programs through the public radio satellite system, which is a combined satellite and Internet content distribution service.

Its digital services include news updates, news blogs, downloadable media content and other features on its website, NPR.org. It also created mobile phone applications such as NPR News App and NPR Music App for both iPhone and Android phones.
