In the 1937 Walt Disney film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," the seven dwarfs are named Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Happy, Sleepy, Sneezy and Grumpy. Doc is the leader of the other six dwarfs.
Doc, while in charge of the other dwarfs, is best noted for his absent-minded and even careless behavior; he is easily confused. Bashful always finds himself intimidated when in Snow White's presence, as demonstrated by his reddening face and shy disposition. Dopey is extraordinarily silly and loving, even if he occasionally irritates Doc and Grumpy with his antics; he is also the only dwarf without a beard.
Happy is noted for his jolly behavior and love of laughter, while Grumpy is the exact opposite; he is always frustrated with the behavior of the other dwarfs and is opposed to letting Snow White stay with them. Sleepy, who might very well be narcoleptic, always seems as if he wants to go to sleep, but he is also very observant and notices things that other characters do not. Finally, Sneezy suffers from hay fever, which causes him to sneeze violently. In spite of his allergies, Sneezy is always a delight to be around and enjoys the company of his fellow dwarfs.
