As of 2015, R. Kelly has three children: Robert Jr., Joann and Jay. Jay, who was originally born as a female and named Jaya, began identifying as a boy at the age of 6 or 7 and came out publicly as transgender in 2014.
Known as the "King of R&B," R. Kelly has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide. He is known for the songs, "I Believe I Can Fly," "The World's Greatest," "Bump 'N Grind," "Ignition (Remix)" and "Trapped in the Closet."
In 2002, a video released to the press purportedly depicted R. Kelly having sex with a minor. The singer faced child pornography charges but was ultimately acquitted on all counts.
