David Ruffin was married twice: he married Sandra Barnes in 1961, and the couple had three daughters, and he married Joy Hamilton in 1976. Ruffin also had a son with girlfriend Genna Sapia.
David Ruffin was an American musician and a singer in The Temptations. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and was ranked as one of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time by "Rolling Stone" magazine in 2008. Ruffin was born Davis Eli Ruffin on Jan. 18, 1941 in Whynot, Mississippi. He died on June 1, 1991 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at age 50 from an apparent drug overdose.
