Myla Dalbesio is a model who originally began her career as a plus-size model at the age of 18 and is represented by Ford Models, Francina and Next Model Management. She won the Miss Wisconsin Teen USA pageant in 2004 at age 16, where she was scouted by two agents who wanted to put her into regular-size modeling, but she was turned away. Ford Modeling Agency signed her as a plus-size model; she wore a size 10 at the time, but is a size 8, as of 2015.
Dalbesio has appeared in various magazine editorials, including Vogue India, Purple, Lui, Twin and Elle France. She appeared on the covers of Tush magazine and Lady magazine and was part of the 2014 "Perfectly Fit" underwear campaign. He ranking of "plus size," which she denounces, caused some controversy. The model considers herself in between "regular" and "plus size."
The model was placed on the Hot List with Models.com, a list of models who are on the rise in the modeling industry. Maxim magazine also listed Dalbesio as one of its Hot 100 for 2015 inclusions.
Dalbesio is also a visual and performance artist who has performed in several art shows. She also writes and has published some essays in Oyster and Twin magazines and writes the column "Girl on Girl" for Elle.com.
