The primary music clubs that offered "12 CDs for the price of one" deals were BMG Music and Columbia House. However, these deals are no longer available, as of 2015.
BMG Music and Columbia House mail-order CD clubs were popular in the 1980s and 1990s but did not survive the first quarter of the new millennium. These companies merged in 2005. BMG stopped allowing new subscribers to sign up in 2008 and announced through a subscriber email that it would cease operations in early 2009. Columbia House filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in August 2015, having realized its service was no longer competitive in the market.
