The only Wes Anderson DVD box set currently available on Amazon includes the movies "Rushmore," The Royal Tenenbaums" and "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou." The box set was released in 2006, and these three films were his most famous at the time.
"Rushmore," Anderson's second feature-length movie, was released in 1998 and starred Jason Schwartzman as the eccentric teenager Max Fischer, who strikes up a friendship with the rich industrialist Herman Blume, played by Bill Murray, and falls in love with his schoolteacher.
"The Royal Tenenbaums," released in 2001, depicts the lives of child prodigies Chas, played by Ben Stiller, Margot, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, and Richie Tenenbaum, played by Luke Wilson, as well as their dysfunctional parents.
The collection's third installment, "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou," stars Bill Murray as the eponymous Zissou, an adventurous oceanographer who sets out to avenge his old partner by hunting down the jaguar shark that killed him. The movie was intended as a parody and homage of renowned French diving pioneer Jacques Cousteau. It stars Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Willem Dafoe, Anjelica Huston, Michael Gambon and Bud Cort. It also stars Anderson's regular collaborator Owen Wilson, who has featured in seven of his films to date.
