Does the Metropolitan Opera Broadcast Its Shows?

The Metropolitan Opera broadcasts its performances via radio on a weekly basis, as of 2015. The company also offers a series of "Met Live in HD" broadcasts every season.

The radio broadcasts are live, full-length performances of Metropolitan Opera performances, available on Saturday afternoons during the season, usually totaling around 20 performances a year. These broadcasts are available on over 300 American radio stations, as well as in over 40 other countries around the world. They date from the Great Depression, when the financially struggling Opera sought to increase interest in its productions. The "Live in HD" broadcasts offer around ten performances every season, simulcast in movie theaters around the world.
