Meg Caswell is an American interior designer and television personality. She appeared as one of the 12 contestants in the sixth season of HGTV's "Design Star" competitive reality series, subsequently winning the competition. She went on to host her own show, "Meg's Great Rooms," per the grand prize offer of the "Design Star" series.
Meg Caswell was born in Chicago, Illinois, on August 18, 1977. After earning a degree in criminology, she returned to school, enrolling at the Art Institute of Chicago. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior architecture from the institution, then began working with Ralph Lauren Home. Later, Meg established a design firm and also opened her own home decor store in her hometown. After winning the "Design Star" contest in 2011, Meg married Randy Hollady in 2012.
During the course of the sixth season of "Design Star," Meg consistently ranked as well as the eventual second- and third-place winners, scoring two wins and five decisions in seven rounds that passed her on to the next challenge. An early setback occurred in round two, the "White Box Challenge," where she ranked second-to-last out of 11 candidates, narrowly avoiding elimination. Later, in the round seven "HGTV'd" challenge, she ranked third out of six contestants.
