How Many Television Channels Are There in Bangladesh?

There are over 30 television channels in Bangladesh, as of 2015. Bangladesh Television, or BTV, is a terrestrial state owned channel. BTV World is the sister channel of BTV, providing satellite broadcast worldwide. Starting in 1997, ATN Bangla was the first private satellite TV channel in Bangladesh. Some privately owned TV channels are Channel 9, Diganta Televsion, Gazi Television, Ntv and Desh TV. Some Bangladeshi news channels include ATN News, Ekattor TV, Jamuna Television, Independent TV and Somoy News.

Some TV channels that broadcast entertainment content include Banglavision, Channel 16, Channel i, Ekushey TV, Gaan Bangla and My TV. The Asian Television Network channels include ATN Bangla, ATN UK, ATN Music, ATN News and ATN Islamic TV. There are many international Bangladeshi channels, such as Channel i Europe, Channel S UK, Ntv Europe and SA TV Europe.

ATN Bangla offers a variety of shows, including news, movies, dramas, reality shows and talk shows. Gaan Bangla is a high definition Bangla music channel. Channel i broadcasts many popular drama serials, games shows, reality shows, movies and comedy shows.

Channel 9 is the official broadcaster of Bangladesh Premier League, which is a professional domestic twenty20 cricket tournament. Bijoy TV focuses on informative and entertaining shows that promote Bangla language and culture.
