Eastwood achieved success as a director and star in the 1970s with his work in the western genre with films such as "High Plains Drifter," "The Outlaw Josey Wales" and "Bronco Billy." In the 1980s, Eastwood directed and appeared in westerns and action movies such as "Pale Rider," "The Deal Pool" and "Sudden Impact."

Eastwood's work as a director and actor in the 1990s earned him critical praise. He won the Academy Award for Best Director for his work on "Unforgiven" and received a nomination for Best Actor for the same film. Eastwood won a second Best Director Oscar for "Million Dollar Baby" in 2004 and also starred in the film.
