Lori Stokes has two grown daughters, Alexandra and Nicolette, by ex-husband News 4 New York reporter, Brian Thompson. Alexandra is an aspiring singer, while Nicolette is a student at Georgetown University. Stokes anchors the "Eyewitness News This Morning" on WABC-TV and abc7NY, as of October 2015.
A daughter of former U.S. congressman Louis Stokes, Lori Stokes is an accomplished television journalist, having won an Emmy Award for a report on children trapped in the crossfire of local Baltimore violence, an Associated Press Award for going undercover to report on the plight of the homeless and a George P. Foster Peabody Award for covering the 9/11 World Trade Center attack. She also received the 2003 Congressional Black Caucus Celebration of Leadership Award.
