There are three books in Suzanne Collins' "Hunger Games" book series: "The Hunger Games," "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay." The trilogy follows Katniss Everdeen as she participates in the hunger games and becomes the mockingjay, a symbol of revolution in her country.
The first book in the trilogy, "The Hunger Games," starts with Katniss volunteering to take her sister's place in the hunger games. Though the games are supposed to have only one victor, both she and the male tribute, Peeta Mellark, from her district survive. In the second book, "Catching Fire," Katniss and Peeta are punished for their survival by being forced into another episode of hunger games. The last book, "Mockingjay," follows Katniss as she leads her country in revolution against the government behind the hunger games.
