The four main characters on "iCarly" are Carly Shay, Spencer Shay, Sam Puckett and Freddie Benson. A fifth character, Gibby, began as a reccuring character in the first 3 seasons, then became a main character from season 4 on.
"iCarly" was a television show created by Dan Schneider that first aired on Nickelodeon in 2007. It told the story of Carly Shay, played by Miranda Cosgrove, a teenager who hosts her own makeshift web show from the studio apartment she lives in with her 26-year-old brother. When she and her best friend Sam Puckett, played by Jeanette McCurdy, are put in charge of the school talent show, they film the audition process. The video goes viral when their tech friend Freddie posts it to the Internet without the girls knowledge, and as a result the iCarly webcast gains a massive following. The rest of the show captured Carly, Sam and Freddie as they simultaneously navigated producing a popular web series and grappled with normal issues and problems related to adolescence.
"iCarly" ran from 2007 to 2012, producing 109 episodes over seven seasons. The pilot aired September 8th, 2007 on Nickelodeon, and 4.1 million viewers tuned in. The final episode, "iGoodbye," aired November 23rd, 2012, and 6.1 million watched it. Notable guest stars on the show included Emma Stone, Jack Black and Jimmy Fallon.
