"Live at Max's Kansas City" was originally recorded in 1970. It was the group's first live album release. The band's label, Atlantic Records, released the recording because it did not want to invest in another studio album. It contains tracks such as "Sweet Jane," "New Age," "I'll Be Your Mirror" and "Sunday Morning." Rhino Records released a reissue of the album in 2004 as a two-disc set.
Velvet Underground fans can also find an live version of "Sunday Morning" on "The Velvet Underground: Bootleg Series Volume 1: The Quine Tapes." The album is an official release of several bootleg live tracks recorded in 1969.Learn more about Art & Literature
