Little Golden Books are a series of illustrated children's books published since 1942. Many of the books are re-workings of popular children's tales. The books can be identified by a signature gold colored binding.
In addition to well-known children's stories and fairy tales, Little Golden Books have also published titles that featured pop culture icons over the years. Very little of the material in Little Golden Books is original, so illustrators of the series are typically better known than authors. The original publisher of the books was Simon & Schuster. However, Little Golden Books has been a division of Random House since 2001. More than a billion Little Golden Books have been sold since their creation.
