The New York Times, Amazon.com and USA Today feature lists of best-selling books. The New York Times divides its best-selling books into categories including hardcover fiction, paperback mass-market fiction, children's picture books, and combined print and e-book fiction.
NYTimes.com shows the current top five books for each category of the New York Times best-seller list with a link for the complete lists at the bottom of each section. Clicking on that link reveals information for the top 15 books in the category. The book's title and author appears along with a short description of the book and the number of weeks it has been on the list.
Amazon.com's list, which is updated hourly, is based on the site's sales. The website gives the book title, author and type along with the price for new and used options. Books that have already been released have star ratings, and some listing also provide an option to "look inside" some of the book's pages.
USA Today's website lists the top 150 books for the week based on data from U.S. booksellers. Its list not only provides the title and author, but also includes a short description, the genre and the release date. Additionally, the website states how long the book has been on the list, what its rating was the previous week, and what rating it received during its best week.
