Pauley Perrette was born on March 27,1969, in New Orleans, Lousiana. As an actress, she is best known for her role as Abby Sciuto on "NCIS," though she is also a poet, singer and civil rights advocate. Perrette was married to actor Coyote Shivers for three years. After their split, Perrette filed a restraining order against Shivers. She was later engaged to cameraman Michael Bowsman, though they never married. Pauley Perrette is a natural blonde, but died her hair black for her role as a goth scientist on the television series "NCIS." In 2014, she had a severe allergic reaction to the hair dye and was hospitalized. She has stated that her face had swollen to twice its normal size. In 2015, Perrette was assaulted by a homeless man outside of her home in Los Angeles. The man was arrested and charged with felony assault.
Before beginning work on "NCIS" in 2003, Perrette appeared on television series such as "Murder One," "Maloney," "Frasier," "That's Life" and "The Drew Carey Show."
