Libro descargar, Spanish for "book downloads," are available extensively on the Internet from such sites as Project Gutenburg, Amazon.com, Google and iBooks. They can be downloaded to both computers and mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
Project Gutenburg offers an extensive library of free books. Its offerings, which are limited to books in the public domain, include classics such as Austin's "Pride and Prejudice" and Machiavelli's "The Prince."
By contrast, Amazon.com's Kindle, Google's Google Play Books and Apple's iBooks offer a full selection of recent titles for sale. All these services allow users to download purchases for reading offline on tablets, smartphones and computers. While Amazon.com and Google have applications supporting Apple products as well as PC and Android devices, iBooks purchases can only be viewed on Apple products because of digital rights management restrictions.
