Leland Chapman is an American bail bondsman and bounty hunter best known for his role in the reality TV series, "Dog the Bounty Hunter." Chapman was born on Dec. 14, 1976, in Groom, Texas, and has three children.
Chapman spent his early life in Pampa, Texas. When he was 8 years old, his family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to reunite with his father, Duane "Dog" Chapman, who had recently been released from prison for a murder conviction. Despite some troubled teenage years, Chapman graduated from high school in 1995 and managed to turn his life around. At age 17, he joined his father to work at his bail bond company, Da Kine Bail Bonds. Their bounty hunting missions eventually became the subject of two hit reality shows: A&E's "Dog the Bounty Hunter," which aired from 2003 to 2012, and CMT's "Dog and Beth: On the Hunt."
Chapman was married to Maui Chapman from 1995 to 2005 and had two sons, Dakota and Cobie. In 2010. he had a daughter, Leiah, with then girlfriend, Lynette Yi. As of November 2015, Chapman owns his own bail bond company, Kama'aina Bail Bonds, runs his father's business, Da Kine Bail Bonds, and stars in "Dog and Beth: On the Hunt," featuring his father and stepmother, Beth Chapman.
