Founded in 1904 by Fred Wehrenberg, Wehrenberg Theatres is the oldest and biggest family-owned and operated movie theater chain in the United States, operating a total of 15 movie theaters with 213 screens. The company has theatres in Missouri, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota, where it has nine theaters with 131 screens in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
