Andre Rieu plays and conducts waltz and classical music. Rieu founded the Johann Strauss Orchestra and rekindled a renewed interest in waltz music. He has been referred to as the "Modern King of Waltz."
Rieu is an extremely gifted violinist and often plays the violin while also directing the orchestra in his concerts. He has sold over 40 million albums, which makes him the best-selling classical musician in the world. Rieu's 2014 world tour sold more tickets than Ed Sheeran, Beyonce and Metallica's world tours. He named his band the Johann Strauss Orchestra after the famous Austrian composer Johann Strauss II.
