Rogers released the romantic ballad “You Decorated My Life” in November 1979. The song, written by Debbie Hupp and Bob Morrison, reached No. 7 on the Hot 100 Billboard chart. It also won the 1979 Grammy Award for Best Country Song.
In 1980, Rogers had a No. 1 hit with the song “Lady,” released on the album “Kenny Rogers' Greatest Hits.” The song was written and produced by Lionel Richie. It spent one week on the Hot Country Singles chart and is listed at No. 47 on the Billboard All-Time Top 100 chart.
