Kelly Ripa was born Oct. 2, 1970 in Stratford, New Jersey. In 1991, she landed the role of Hayley Santos in the ABC daytime drama "All My Children." She joined co-host Regis Philbin on ABC's morning talk show "Live With Regis and Kelly" in February 2001.
Kelly Ripa is the daughter of a bus driver and labor union president. At the age of 3, she began studying ballet. When she was 19, she appeared as a dancer on "Dance Party USA." Ripa attended Camden Community College in New Jersey where, before she landed the role of Hayley on "All My Children," she performed in local theater productions. She replaced long-time co-host Kathie Lee when she took the job as Regis Philbin's co-host on ABC's morning talk show in 2001.
Ripa continued to appear on "All My Children" alongside her co-star and husband Mark Consuelos, up until 2002 when she left the show. She lives with Consuelos in New Jersey with their three children, Michael Joseph, Lola Grace and Joaquin.
Ripa's biggest vice is picking her cuticles, according to People.com. She also says the rose/heart/wave tattoo on her left ankle that she got at age 19 is a symbol of her youthful stupidity.
