Born in 1935, Julie Andrews made her West End debut in 1948 and appeared on Broadway in 1954. Her Tony nominations for "My Fair Lady" and "Camelot" pushed her into the spotlight, offering an easy transition into film. She won several Best Actress awards and was immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her voice was damaged during an operation to remove nodules from her vocal chords in 1997 and much of her wide vocal range was lost. She has also authored several children's books and published an autobiography in 2008.
