Jimmy Capps was born on May 25, 1939, in Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is one of the notable members of the acclaimed Nashville A-Team who backed popular singers such as Bob Dylan and Elvis Presley in the late 50s, 60s and early 70s.
Jimmy Capps was born to Alice and Tommy Capps. He was brought up in Benson, and he started playing the guitar at the age of 12. He drew his inspiration from Lynn Cook, who encouraged him to play the guitar. Capps is considered one of America's finest country music guitarists. Alongside his Nashville A-Team band members, he was indicted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2007.
