Jimmy Buffet was born in 1946. He moved to Nashville after college in hopes of becoming a country music artist. His early albums did not receive much attention. Buffett found his niche after moving to Key West in the1970s, where he began making music that reflected the laid-back beach lifestyle he enjoyed there. The 1977 album, "Changes In Latitude, Changes In Attitude," was his first mainstream hit, followed in 1978 by his equally popular "Son of a Son of a Sailor."
