"The Nutty Professor" is a 1963 comic science fiction film in which Jerry Lewis plays the role of Professor Kelp, who later turns into the character Buddy Love. Lewis also directed the film and co-wrote it with Bill Richmond. The movie also stars Stella Stevens, Del Moore and Kathleen Freeman. In 1996, a re-make of the film was made starring Eddie Murphy and Jada Pinkett-Smith. The original film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in 2004.
