What Are Some Interesting Facts About Jean Shepard?

Jean Shepard is an American country music singer and songwriter. Shepard was signed with Capitol records in 1952 and her first single, "A Dear John Letter," a duet with Ferlin Husky, was recorded in 1953. Between 1956 and 1981, she recorded 24 studio albums and released 73 singles.

Shepard has been a member of the Grand Ole Opry since 1955 and, as of 2015, she is the longest running living member. She was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2011. Shepard was born on November 21, 1933, in Paul's Valley, Oklahoma and was raised in Visalia, California.
