Aside from hosting his weekend health program on CNN, Dr. Sanjay Gupta also works as a general neurosurgeon at Grady Memorial Hospital and as an assistant professor of neurosurgery at Emory University. Additionally, he completed his first triathlon at the age of 40.
Dr. Gupta performs operations on patients' spines and brains at least once a week as the associate chief of neurosurgery at Grady Memorial Hospital.
For his first triathlon, he taught himself how to swim by watching tutorials on YouTube eight months before the event. He swam in the Hudson River, rode a bike on the West Side Highway and finished with a run to Central Park.
