Bill Klein has a type of dwarfism known as spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia, which causes a severely short stature, a short trunk, shortened limbs and an abnormal curve of the spine. Bill's hands, feet and head are of average size, however. The severe curving of the spine causes severe problems with pain, breathing and mobility. Bill has had over 20 surgeries to correct his spine and joints since childhood. He stands right at 4 feet in height.

Jen Arnold has the Strudwick type of spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia, a rare form of dwarfism. Like Bill, her condition is characterized by a short stature, trunk, shortened limbs and an abnormally curved spine. However, her condition comes with more severe spinal curving and the severe protrusion of her breastbone. Jen stands at only 3 feet 2 inches tall. She has had over 30 corrective surgeries over her lifetime.

Bill and Jen adopted a 3-year-old boy, William, from China and a 2-year-old girl, Zoey, from India in 2013. Both appear to have achondroplasia, the most common type of dwarfism. The couple married in 2009.
