Ideals magazine, a holiday magazine of inspirational poetry, artwork and nostalgia, is no longer available by subscription as of 2015, but is still sold in retail stores. At the magazine's highest circulation level, there were eight issues published annually.
Ideals magazine has traditionally been popular with Christian families during the Christmas holidays. The first issue of the magazine was published during the Christmas holiday of 1944 by a public relations manager named Van B. Hooper. The magazine began as a collection of poems that were added to a company newsletter in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Ideals is a division of Worthy Publishing Group, based in Nashville, Tennessee.
