What Happened in Donnie Walhberg's Divorce?

In August 2008, actor and singer Donnie Wahlberg and his wife Kim Fey filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. The divorce was finalized on Sept. 28, 2010, when they reached an out-of-court settlement. They agreed to shared custody of their two sons, Xavier and Elijah.

Details behind the reasons for the split are unclear, but both parties agreed to the separation. At the time, rumors circulated that Donnie had left Kim for a Canadian model named Michelle Tomlinson. Before filing for divorce, the couple had already been separated and living apart for a year, though they claimed to be close friends still. Fey filed for divorce on Aug. 13, 2008 in Los Angeles Superior Court. On the same day, Wahlberg filed for divorce in Ventura Superior Court. The time of filing came right before Wahlberg was scheduled to go on a reunion tour with his band, New Kids On The Block. Initially, Fey sought sole physical and legal custody of the kids as well as spousal support and attorney's fees. Fey was represented by Glendale divorce attorney Greta T. Hutton. After a two-year custody battle, the couple reached an out-of-court settlement in Ventura County, officially ending their nine-year marriage but maintaining joint custody of their children.
