Annette Funicello had subsequent roles in several movies and TV shows. She also continued singing and had several pop hits on a Disney record label. She passed away in April 2013.
After appearing on "The Mickey Mouse Club," Annette Funicello remained under contract with Disney and landed roles in several Disney films, including "The Shaggy Dog," "Babes in Toyland," "The Misadventures of Merlin Jones" and "The Monkey's Uncle." She also appeared in TV shows such as "Zorro," "Elfego Baca, Attorney at Law" and "The Horsemasters." After moving on from Disney, she starred in a series of beach party movies with Frankie Avalon in the 1960s.
In 1992, Funicello revealed to the public that she had been suffering from multiple sclerosis. On April 8, 2013, she passed away at the age of 70 from complications of the disease.
