What Happened to the Actors on "The Waltons"?

Ralphe Waite, the actor who played John Walton Sr. in the TV show "The Waltons," died in 2014 at the age of 85. During his life, Waite also appeared in the miniseries, "Roots," and had roles on "Days of Our Lives" and "NCIS," the hit drama on CBS.

At the time of Waite's death, Richard Thomas, who played John-Boy, was playing Frank Gaad on the FX series, "The Americans," and Judy Norton, who played Mary Ellen, was starring on the Canadian series "Bluff." Additionally, she wrote and starred in the film "Finding Harmony."

Also at that time, John Walmsley, who played Jason, was playing and composing music, while Eric Scott, who played Ben, owned Chase Messengers, a delivery service based in Los Angeles.

Michael Learned, who played Olivia Walton, toured with a stage production of the show, "Driving Miss Daisy," and was also in the film, "Afterlife."

Mary McDonough, David W. Harper and Kami Cotler all moved away from show business. Mary McDonough, who played Erin, wrote "Lessons from the Mountain: What I Learned from Erin Walton" and was pursuing more writing. David W. Harper, who played Jim-Bob, quit acting and spent time working several odd jobs, including working at the messenger company owned by Scott. As of 2014, he was returning to school to study business and history.

Finally, Kami Cotler, who played Elizabeth was a founding principal at the Environmental Charter Middle School. The school is located in Gardena, California.
