Guy Penrod studied music and vocal performance at Liberty University in Virginia, where he met his wife Angie Clark. He worked briefly as a music teacher in Georgia before moving to Nashville, where he started his music career as a backup session singer and went on to become a solo performer. He and his wife have eight children.
