Greta Van Susteren is an American journalist and political commentator. She appears on Fox News Channel in their daily, evening line up of shows, where she reports on current events and political news in a show that includes her own personal commentary and special guests.
Van Susteren is the host of Fox News Channel's "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren," which airs at 7 p.m., as of November 2015. It is the highest-rated cable show in its time slot.
Van Susteren holds a law degree from Georgetown University. She received the American Bar Association's Presidential Award for Excellence in Journalism for her legal reporting.
Before her tenure at Fox News, Van Susteren worked for CNN as a legal reporter, commentator and host. One of Van Susteren's first assignments for CNN was reporting on the O.J. Simpson trial. Prior to her time at Fox News, Van Susteren also maintained a law practice representing civil and criminal clients in a variety of legal matters. Her law practice included significant trial work.
