The warm, cheesy crostini is a great appetizer or snack. The cheesy broccoli casserole is a delicious Thanksgiving side dish to complement your main course.
To make the crostini, cut one French bread baguette into 36 slices, and place on a baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit until lightly browned. Combine 2 cups of shredded Monterey Jack cheese, 2/3 cup of mayonnaise, 1/2 cup of toasted sliced almonds, six cooked and crumbled bacon strips and one chopped green onion. Add a dash of salt. Spread the mixture over the bread slices, and bake for 7 minutes, or until the cheese melts.
A tasty way to serve green vegetables for Thanksgiving dinner, the cheesy cheddar broccoli casserole is easy to prepare and requires only a few ingredients. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare 32 ounces of frozen broccoli florets according to package directions. Combine one can of condensed cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup of sour cream, 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese and 1 1/4 cups of French fried onions in a large saucepan, and cook over medium heat for about five minutes, or until heated. Stir in the prepared, drained broccoli. Pour this mixture into a greased 2-quart baking dish, and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cover with 1/2 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese and the remainder of the can of fried onions. Bake for another 10 to 15 minutes.
