As of November, popular action movies in 2015 include "Jurassic World," "Furious 7" and "Spectre." These three movies are among the top-grossing films of 2015, and they all are either sequels to a previous film or the next installment in a series adapted from novels.
"Jurassic World," a sequel to 1993's "Jurassic Park," centers around the title theme park, which is being built on the same site as its failed predecessor. Scientists at the park completed years of genetic research to engineer a new breed of dinosaur as the park's newest attraction. The dinosaur is a massive and incredibly fast predator that escapes from its enclosed habitat, killing everything in its path. The scientists, along with others, must act quickly in their attempt to flee the island before becoming the dinosaur's next victims.
"Furious 7" is the most recent installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise as of 2015. The story begins after the crew defeats an international terrorist before going their separate ways to return to their regular lives. However, the terrorist's brother wants revenge. A government official offers to help the crew in exchange for their help in rescuing a computer hacker who developed a highly intrusive, sensitive and powerful surveillance program. The film's ending was changed to include a tribute to cast member Paul Walker, who was killed in a car accident during filming.
