American author Brad Thor's books are best described as political thrillers. The 14-book series features ex-Navy SEAL Secret Service agent Scott Harvath traveling the world and unraveling terrorist plots everywhere he goes.
Thor's "The Last Patriot" was nominated for Best Thriller of the Year by the International Thriller Writers Association, and "Blowback" was voted as one of the 100 Best Ever Killer Thrillers by National Public Radio listeners. "Full Black" and "Foreign Influence" were each named to Suspense Magazine's Best Political Thrillers list for 2010 and 2011, respectively. Thor shadowed a Black Ops team in Afghanistan during the research phase of "The Apostle" and served as a member of the Department of Homeland Securit's Analytic Red Cell Unit, a program that used creative thinkers to identify potential terrorist scenarios for the government.
