The Montreal Gazette publishes articles online at MontrealGazette.com. Other material available from the Montreal Gazette includes supplementary video and pictures, obituaries, opinion pieces, classified advertisements and sports scores.
As of 2015, the Montreal Gazette is the only daily English-language paper in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was launched in 1778 as a French language paper, but shut down in 1779. The paper was re-launched in 1785 with a dual-language format. All articles published in the paper at that time were written in both French and English.
In 1822, the rights to the paper were sold to businessman Thomas Andrew Turner, who converted it to the current English-only format.
