Fitness magazine was launched in 1992 by The New York Times Magazine Group. The women’s magazine was then acquired by Gruner + Jahr in 1994 and later on by Meredith Corporation in 2005.
Fitness is published 10 times a year. It focuses on women’s health, exercise and nutrition and provides workouts and diet plans as well as beauty and health tips. The magazine’s website, FitnessMagazine.com, publishes health and fitness tips alongside the print magazine’s editorial content. The website was launched in 2005. Fitness also organizes real-world health and fitness events to promote its brand and raise funds for charity. These include the Mind, Body, Spirit Games and a half-marathon, which is organized in collaboration with More magazine.
