"Storm Front" is the first book in the "Dresden Files" series by Jim Butcher. The next three books in the series, in order, are "Fool Moon," "Grave Peril" and "Summer Knight."
The series features Chicago-based private investigator and wizard Harry Dresden, who takes on cases involving the world of magic. In "Storm Front," Dresden works as a consultant to the police on a double murder with signs that point to black magic. As he investigates, he crosses paths with gangsters, vampires, a werewolf and a skull that talks with a British accent. The murder is related to a drug, "ThreeEye," which gives regular humans "The Sight," an ability that can make them insane. In this fast-paced novel, Dresden must clear himself of police suspicion and survive attacks by the warlock Shadowman.
