AMC theaters offer many benefits and perks for moviegoers including showing the latest films, offering a variety of showtimes, having food and drink options available ranging from basic concessions to cafes and offering traditional and digital gift cards for purchase. Some participating AMC theaters also offer sensory-friendly films and group discounts.
AMC started offering sensory-friendly films at the AMC Columbia Mall 14 theater in Columbia, Maryland, but the program had expanded to theaters across the country by 2015. sensory-friendly films are designed to cater to families with children who have autism spectrum disorder or other special needs. During these shows, children are allowed to move around freely and talk or sing. The theater keeps the lights on during these shows and keeps the volume lowered to appeal to those who have sensory issues. As of 2015, these showings were held at 10 a.m. on select dates.
AMC also offers the AMC stubs rewards program to customers, which gives them a $10 reward to spend at the theater for every $100 spent. The program does require guests to pay a fee to join, but those with memberships also get free upgrades at concession stands and are not charged the typical fee to buy movie tickets online.
